I flicked on my cell and dialed number 99317…. My junior from kgp barked on me “Who is this?”
I replied back gently “Hey calm down, this is me”. I asked him for the options of reaching at his location. He suggested many but auto rickshaw suits me always.
“How many bucks to reach Borivali East?” I asked to one monster who was trying to burn a “Biri” inside his auto.
”250 bucks” Monster replied back taking a long smoke inside his lungs.
I told him 100 bucks.” Head your way! Mere Malik” he replied politely but full of sarcasm.
100 meters away there were two auto rickshaw one behind other. Both were frowning on me hopelessly, perhaps I spent much time bargaining with first one. I walked there and told him 125 bucks; other was looking at me perhaps thinking that he lost one scapegoat for today. The other one eventually replied 140 bucks. I moved inside the auto and yawned. Done!
I sat holding exam notes in my hand, perhaps a few pages could be managed while traveling. But how is that possible in new place. My attention always used to spread around ferreting something new. After a while one auto rickshaw passed by furiously with printed ”Limiting Infinity” on the back side of cover. I looked at it and started thinking what does it mean?
Well there are many explanations. This word first reminds me “Lata Mangeshkar”,”R.D.Berman”,”Javed Akhtar”, “Sachin Tendulkar”,”Amitabh Bachhan”,”Shahrukh Khan”, My favorite “Amir Khan” etc.
I was busy looking around for something, expecting something different that emphasize the fact that it is the land where most stars of
The Mumbai, Where there is glamour, energy, spirit, speed, intelligence, art, most importantly zeal to excel in the world. Well some are true but most false. Nothing exciting comes in my sight, same old way of city life flow. Nothing enormous that fills my curiosity to exalt myself .I was wandering how the people use to call this city the “Dream of India”. Had they been suffered on local train, they could have thought of it “The City of Hell”. There is no dream to survive here. All seem fake wearing façade on their face. Every one is busy with their life, going on duty, working routinely. No attachment, how have they been habituated? Meaningless are the words “Silence”,”Rest”,”Stability”,”Honesty”,”Trust”,”Emotion”here. No one talks about Sachin, Amitabh as we watch in TV, Newspaper, Radio, on Internet.
Let me define the word now:
Limiting => Putting Barrier or Demarcation implies Narrowing
Infinity => Indefinable, Endless, Unreachable

Well In the context of Mumbai and lived glamour there, this word has great relevance though. Let us go back to talk about the stars and their glamorous world who want to leave behind their mark in every Indian mind. They are making violent effort day and night to leave something unbelievable for us to sell something in the market. If I talk about Sachin Tendulkar, there would be shortage of word to define him. Same is true for Lata,Madhubala,Dilip Kumar,Amitabh,Shahrukh and many more who already touched the sky .If I start exploring each individual God knows how many books would have been pulished.Each of them are vertical in their fraternity.
Now questions arise. Do they feel like being at top? Why are they famous? What is the reason person are so excited to see a glimpse of them? Why media is always chasing them? How are we getting affected? How the country is being served from them? Only the money is our ultimate goal? Only richer are revered in this era? Are we insane or they are legendry? Is it only money game?
I haven’t seen anything amazing in Mumbai which convinces me to realize that these legends even exist there. I might not be true, it is individual perspective of looking at things but who the hell is making such lingering hype about them. Those are modern communication system which waves the things instantaneously. Today media is fast like electric current. There are five (TV, Radio, Newspaper, Internet, Movies) strong forms of media which get the attention of most people. How effective the media is? It is hard to imagine its strength. They can make any infamous one to famous in few seconds. If this is the case of an infamous ,can you imagine what could be the circumstances when they publicize the hype mania for a famous one who are thriving ingeniously to remain glorious in every eyes ?The scenario would be far more obtrusive. This is huge business not only for the celebrities but for media as well. They are publicized to sell the business supported by them. Recently I heard about a movie. The budget to make this movie was 70 million dollar but revenue generated was approximately 370 million. Everywhere there is rush to grab as much money as they can in short life without caring about whether they are going to use it in whole of the life or not.
People get excited to see even a glimpse of stars because they are rich, famous. Perhaps we pretend ourselves to feel like famous even by shaking a hand or standing by stars for a moment. And not only that we use to publicize our photo or stars signed autograph on most famous public forum “Orkut”.The reason we chase the star is to feel the fulcrum of eminence. On the other hand, despite the fact that stars are well renowned, they themselves don’t realize what we realize about them. But they are trying hard to hide themselves because their importance lies in the fact that they should not be easily accessible in public. If they do our treatment would be devoid of wondrous respect. However we hold the rope of hope, God knows when our luck will flip like a coin and will be counted among celebrities and eventually will be rich just by interacting with them. These unfruitful hopes always drive us to orient towards those icon.
Let us think about a situation when all the communication system is shutdown. All the form of media (strong or weak) is severed. No TV, No Newspaper, No Internet, No Movies, No Radio, no any communication device like phone, cell etc. All are being destroyed. All connections have been broken. What will happen?
[Think for a moment what you read .Realize it how heavily we are dependent on these items.These are integral part of our life.If those will be abandoned instantly we will feel a havoc,a massive disorder in our life but very soon we realize..........]
World will sink into a deep silence. First time people will realize a standstill. A passivity which will be endless. Time would seem slowing down its frequency. Everything would start looking different. The people will feel burden less. We will be in a completely new world which seems running very smoothly without any noise. People will start behaving well. There would be no competition. All would feel light as if something heavy fell down from their head. Most of psychological disease will get cured automatically. We will feel complete harmony and mutual acceptance. Can you imagine the situation?
Extremely calm, smooth, soft and plain life which would be quiet, normal and natural. No news of being grandeur, famous, celebrities, no rush, no competition, all new and a very silent life where a few know Sachin, movie aficionado knows who is Amitabh, Shahrukh, rest would be unaware of them .We won’t be so excited to hear them. We won’t be dying to shake a hand with them. They would be like normal person but famous, not because of media but because of their hard work, their skill, their sacrifice. They would be at pinnacle but lacking arrogance. They are still unreachable because of their milestone built but could be assumed like us with whom we can share our feelings easily without any presumed intentions. We will feel, they are like us who are famous for their bravery, dedication, determination hard work and all whole life sacrifice not because of media hype or so.
